Visa 13.7

Cancelled merchandise or services

The cardholder cancelled the order or the booking and says they are owed the money back. This code reads the cancellation terms they accepted and the timing. A no-refund term only helps you if the customer was shown it before paying.

The evidence this code accepts

  1. 1

The cancellation terms the customer agreed to

Terms accepted at checkout are the case; terms published later are not.

  2. 2

How those terms were shown and accepted

A ticked box at checkout is the strongest form.

  3. 3

    When the cancellation reached you

Timing against the terms decides whether anything is owed.

  4. 4

Whether the goods or service were already supplied

Supply before cancellation changes what is owed.

  5. 5

    Refund status

A partial refund already issued needs to be on the record.

  6. 6

    Customer messages about the cancellation

The exchange, in full, not a summary.
